Casa do Azeite - Associação do Azeite de Portugal (Olive Oil Association of Portugal) is a private employer's association with national scope, set up to defend and promote the interests of its members and recognized as a Public Utility Entity.
This association began its activity in September 1976, under the name of Associação dos Armazenistas, Refinadores e Exportadores de Azeite (AREA), and changed its name to Casa do Azeite - Associação do Azeite de Portugal in 1994.
Casa do Azeite is an organization whose mission is rooted in branded olive oil. Its activity is divided between supporting producers and packers and promoting branded olive oil to consumers.
As the face of quality-guaranteed olive oil for consumers, it is committed to promoting the growth of the national olive oil sector.
It has actively collaborated with all the official bodies that oversee the sector, universities and other national and foreign institutions, making its guidelines widely known to its members.
Casa do Azeite currently has around 40 member companies, together representing around 85% of all branded olive oil packaged in Portugal.
Casa do Azeite - Associação do Azeite de Portugal (Olive Oil Association of Portugal) was born for reasons of an eminently business and employer nature, with a view to participating in collective negotiation processes, and over time it has defined its own field of intervention which, without losing sight of its main objective of defending the interests of its members, is characterized in an important way by the dissemination and promotion of the image of packaged olive oil to the consumer, as a guarantee of the quality, authenticity and genuineness of the product.
Among other things, Casa do Azeite provides its associated companies with the following services:

Permanent information to members through newsletters on a wide range of topics of interest: technical information, legislative changes, labor issues, economic and market information, etc..;

Intervention with the Public Administration in defence of the sector's interests and representation of the activity in national, community and international organizations;
